Blockchain is undeniably spreading all over the world. And the effect of this technological advancement is felt. Don Tapscott, CEO of The Tapscott Group, and Alex Tapscott, CEO and Founder of NextBlock Global, authors of Blockchain Revolution, described the blockchain technology as:
A whopping number of European ministers signed a declaration today on the establishment of a European Blockchain Partnership. These countries include Luxembourg, Poland, Belgium, Norway, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Austria, Slovenia, Malta, Spain, Sweden, France, and UK. These are the 22 countries that embraced the blockchain technology. Members of the European Union and the European Economic Area are also invited to join the partnership so the number might increase.
The initiative’s aim was to create a digitally stronger Europe and that this digital strength will implement advantages such as ‘competitive and socially secure society’ and ‘better public services and security’. Blockchain applications will also be developed and launched all throughout the European Union countries. This is a part of the utilization of this technology which also requires the cooperation of the Member States and the help of the European Blockchain Partnership.
Don & Alex Tapscott also said:
Curiosity and being open to the world is a definite advantage. The European Commission Official recognizes that Blockchain is spreading. It is going mainstream. Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, Mariya Gabriel, backed the declaration stating:
A large investment amounting to EUR 80 million was placed in the EU Blockchain Observatory for projects promoting the blockchain technology last February 2018 and the Member States does not intend to stop there. It is said that by the year 2020, an additional of EUR 300 million will be invested.
