Everything Turns Political in America. Even the Coronavirus

Something is inherently broken in a system where even the threat of a global pandemic can’t bring people together, yet divides them even further apart.

Depending on which source you choose to get your news from in the U.S., the novel coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19, is either a dangerous disease at the cusp of taking its deadly foothold upon the world or a slightly milder version of the flu that can be abolished with simple hand washing.

My Google News feed showed me two such differing headlines right in a row the other day:

These are just two examples, the news is full of conflicting information. It’s hard to know whether the biggest thing we have to fear is fear itself, or the biggest thing we have to fear is the coronavirus. Don’t expect to get any definitive answers on this one. At least from the American media. Or from the U.S. government.
